Item 1 of 1
Wadi El Rayan is a one-of-a-kind nature preserve in Egypt's Faiyum Governorate, overseen by the Ministry of Environmental Affairs (EEAA). The valley of Wadi El-Rayan covers 1759 km2, 113 km2 of which are dominated by the Wadi El Rayan lakes. It is about 65 kilometers southwest of Faiyum and 80 kilometers west of the Nile River. The Wadi has been used for man-made lakes formed by agricultural drainage, creating a reserve of the two distinct Wadi El Rayan Lakes.
