Pyramid of Djoser

The pyramid of Djoser (or Djeser and Zoser), also known as the Step Pyramid of Djoser, is an archaeological site in Egypt's Saqqara necropolis, northwest of the Memphis ruins. The 6-tiered, 4-sided structure is Egypt's first colossal stone structure. t was constructed in the 27th century BC during the Third Dynasty for Pharaoh Djoser's burial. The pyramid is the focal point of a massive mortuary complex set in a vast courtyard surrounded by ceremonial structures and decoration. Imhotep, the pharaoh's chancellor and high priest of the god Ra, designed it.
